Equip launched a new football academy in September 2023. Victory Football Academy is run directly by the team based in Kigali and supported by one of our UK volunteers, Beth Tuck. Beth is a Sports Coaching graduate who plays for AFC Stoneham Ladies and she has so far raised around £2000 to support the project. She first visited Rwanda back in July 2019 and joined Equip in the summer of 2023 in order to prepare for the launch of the new Football Academy.

One of the main events was a charity football match between Hampshire Charity FC and Equip FC which raised just over £600. Beth convened an excellent team of players to represent Equip and they managed to beat the more experienced Hampshire charity team by 3 goals to 1. AFC Stoneham Chairman, Mark Stupple, kindly agreed to the use of their excellent facilities to host the game and is interested in building a strong relationship between the club and Victory Football Academy.

Beth is hoping to travel to Rwanda to monitor the progress of the academy and continue to find support through various activities back in the UK.
